Who should NOT apply for the Dual Admission program? Students who do not meet the qualifications above or who have attended multiple colleges should consider filling out a general transfer application. For certain academic programs, dual admission may not be the best option for transfer students. Discuss your intended major with dual admission representatives.
How do I apply for the Dual Admission program? Students can fill out the application at any time. A print copy is available from any of the contact persons below or online at www.siue.edu/transfer/lccc-dual-agreement. We recommend that students meet with an LCCC advisor before completing the application.
What are the benefits of being a part of the Dual Admission program? Students accepted into the program are awarded general acceptance to SIUE and immediately will be eligible to receive academic services from the University. Participants will meet with academic advisors and transfer coordinators to ensure that they are taking courses that transfer to SIUE. Courses automatically are transferred at the end of each semester. Students are able to track their progress by checking their SIUE transcript to view transferred courses. Also, students are invited to attend some events on campus while they still taking classes at LCCC. The SIUE Admissions application fee is waived for students in the program.
Is dual admission the same as dual enrollment?
No. The dual admission agreement implies that you will take and complete course work at LCCC, then transfer to SIUE. A student who is “dual enrolled” attends both institutions at the same time.
What about my plans at LCCC? Students should continue their educational plans at LCCC and should either complete an associate’s degree or General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) to remain eligible for the Dual Admission program. We recommend that students meet with an LCCC advisor each semester to ensure that they are meeting LCCC degree requirements.
What if my plans change? If you need to change the term in which you are transferring to SIUE, you may do so. If you change your mind about attending SIUE or do not fulfill the requirements of the program, you can withdraw from dual admission with no penalty.
