<p><strong>What is RSS?</strong></p>
<p>RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is simply an online channel of information.<br />Usually an RSS channel will contain a list of headlines and short descriptions<br />with a link to the story on an originating Web Site. You subscribe to an RSS<br />channel through feed readers or aggregators. There are many different feed<br />readers that are used to handle RSS. The feed readers aggregate<br />your RSS subscriptions so you can get your news from various Web Sites in one place.</p>
<p><br /><strong>Why RSS for SIUE news?<br /><br /></strong>As SIUE Public Affairs sends out a story to the media, that story will be fed<br />directly to the RSS, so that any SIUE news RSS subscriber will immediately be<br />able to read the media releases that are sent out. You will be one of the first to<br />see what is happening at SIUE.</p>
