<p>The Heating and Refrigeration Plant was built in 1965 and houses the campus chiller plant. The large green tank adjacent to the building houses the largest chilled water storage system in Illinois Higher Education and cools the campus core buildings by running chillers at night using much cheaper off peak electricity.</p>
