Ina Peabody Sledge Award 2005 Application FormIna Peabody Sledge, a native of East St. Louis, Illinois, served with distinction as Education Librarian at Lovejoy Library, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 1983 until her death in February 1998. During her 30 years of service to SIUE, she worked in a number of positions including head of the East St. Louis Center Library. Ina Sledge’s caring, giving attitude motivated and encouraged students to pursue their educational goals. She recognized and valued strong character and moral fortitude. The Ina Peabody Sledge Award will to be given at SIUE Honors Day, April 21. SIUE undergraduate students, in good standing, with a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 or above are eligible to apply for the Award. There is a $500 stipend with the award. Preference is given to residents of Alorton, Brooklyn, Centreville, East St. Louis, Venice, and Washington Park.
