<body>&lt;strong&gt;Graduate Assistantship Position&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Posting No:&lt;/strong&gt; GS10-911&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hiring Unit:&lt;/strong&gt; School of Business, Illinois SBDC International Trade Center&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Category:&lt;/strong&gt; General&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Job Description:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Assist in the development and management of international-related programs and activities for the Center; work closely with area organizations to deliver programs collaboratively; identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration within SIUE to enhance and initiate new programs; assist in obtaining funding for new programs; provide international trade assistance to Southern Illinois companies (via phone, mail, e-mail or joint site visits with Director); assist in the preparation of press releases and the development and maintenance of the Center&amp;rsquo;s website; provide administrative support and assist with the academic duties of the Director of the International Trade Center.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Qualifications Required:&lt;/strong&gt; Must be admitted into the School of Business graduate program: MBA student preferred. International Business concentration or closely related; must be enrolled in 6-12 hours in spring 2010; social security number is required; strong background or interest in international business and trade; some business experience; excellent written and oral communication skills (a must); ability to raise funds through development activities; word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software knowledge. Preferred: experience in working with small business; experience in seminar, workshop, and conference administration; experience in marketing of programs and services; experience in international trade assistance services; knowledge of international trade programs and services; working knowledge of at least one language other than English; overseas employment and/or living experience; internet and web page development experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Period of Appointment:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Spring 2010&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Salary:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;dependent upon 50% or 25% appointment&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Number of Openings:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; 1 50% assistantship (20 hrs/wk) OR 2 25% assistantships (10 hrs/wk); renewal contingent upon job performance and availability of funding.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Closing Date For Applications:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; January 8, 2010 or until position is filled&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Submit:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Letter of Application and resume to: (only selected applicants will be invited for an interview.
