&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;September 23:&lt;/strong&gt; OTA and OTAA nominations are due in the Graduate School. &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/graduateschool/current/thesis_award.shtml"&gt;The Outstanding Thesis Award (OTA)&lt;/a&gt; recognizes and rewards a graduate student whose thesis has been identified by the Graduate School as outstanding among all those submitted during the previous academic year. The &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/graduate/current/ta_award.shtml"&gt;Outstanding Teaching Graduate Assistant Award (OTAA)&lt;/a&gt; is designed to recognize and reward Graduate Assistants for outstanding performance in teaching and instruction. By October 1st: OTA theses and OTAA nominations go to the University Fellowship and Scholarship Committee (UFSC). By Mid October: UFSC makes the recommendations to the Graduate School Dean in time to notify recipients for the Graduate Student Recognition Luncheon at the end of October.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;October 3:&lt;/strong&gt; First Monday in October &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/graduate/current/research.shtml"&gt;RGGS&lt;/a&gt; proposals due to the Graduate School (first round). The &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/graduate/current/research.shtml"&gt;RGGS&lt;/a&gt; program supports research initiated and conducted by eligible graduate students. Subject to availability of funds. Up to $500 each; $20,000 usually available for the academic year. Second week of October RGGS proposal forwarded to the RPAB for review.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;October 5:&lt;/strong&gt; Fulbright U.S. Student Programs for Study Abroad, applications due to the Fulbright Program Advisor (FPA) Ron Schaefer for approval. Applications may be submitted through the International Programs; for further information, please contact Ron Schaefer at 650-3728 or rschaef@siue.edu. This program provides future American leaders with an opportunity to study, conduct research, and teach in other countries. Fulbright student grants aim to increase mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange while serving as a catalyst for long-term leadership development.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;January 13:&lt;/strong&gt; Deadline for &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/graduatestudents/prospective/awards.shtml"&gt;Competitive Graduate Award (CGA)&lt;/a&gt; applications. The purpose of the CGA program is to support highly qualified new students, including students from underrepresented groups, who are accepted into advanced degree programs at SIUE. Funding is $930 per month plus tuition waivers for 19 awards.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;February 6:&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/research/research.shtml"&gt;RGGS&lt;/a&gt; proposals due to the Graduate School. The RGGS program supports research initiated and conducted by eligible graduate students. Subject to availability of funds. Up to $500 each; $20,000 usually available for the academic year. The following week, proposal are forwarded to the RPAB for review (second round) and to make RGGS funding recommendations to the Graduate School.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
