<body>&lt;h2&gt;Program Accounts&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Award Accounts&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Award accounts recognize student achievements.&amp;nbsp; These stipulations either contain specific instructions on how to choose a recipient or it may give the responsibility of choosing the recipient to a committee, University official or University office.&amp;nbsp; The majority of the student awards are given at an annual Honors Convocation that recognizes the accomplishments of SIUE&amp;rsquo;s students.&amp;nbsp; In accordance with University policy, the Foundation coordinates all awards, grants, loans, and scholarships students receive through Foundation accounts with the Student Financial Aid Office.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Benefit Accounts&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Benefit accounts are used for fundraising events so that expenses and profits may be tracked easily.&amp;nbsp; Once a benefit is over and all expenses paid, the remaining profit is transferred to the related account.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Development Accounts&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; In essence, a development account provides unrestricted money to a University unit.&amp;nbsp; The unit&amp;rsquo;s fiscal officer has the authority to spend the money in support of the unit as detailed by the stipulation.&amp;nbsp; These expenditures could include such items as:&amp;nbsp; student recognition and assistance; faculty and staff training and development; equipment and furniture purchases; hardware and software purchases; donor recognition, cultivation and stewardship; conference fees; books and resource purchases; etc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Faculty Research and Award Accounts&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Faculty research and award accounts recognize faculty research and achievements.&amp;nbsp; These stipulations either contain specific instructions on how to choose a recipient or it may give the responsibility of choosing the recipient to a committee, University official or University office.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Scholarship Accounts&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; Scholarship accounts provide financial assistance for students.&amp;nbsp; Scholarships may provide assistance with tuition, tuition and fees, and/or educational costs.&amp;nbsp; The scholarship may be based on academic standing, talent, and/or financial need.&amp;nbsp; Other considerations such as major, residence, high school affiliation, and/or extra-curricular activities, may be taken into account.&amp;nbsp; A University unit or the Office of Student Financial Aid may administer scholarships.&amp;nbsp; In accordance with University policy, the Foundation notifies the Student Financial Aid Office of all awards, grants, loans, and scholarships students receive through Foundation accounts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</body>
