Dr. Lux obtained her Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Georgia, her M.S. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University. Dr. Lux has initiated a line of inquiry investigating teacher socialization. Specifically, she is interested in physical educators’ experiences of marginality as teachers of a low-status subject in schools. Dr. Lux has presented papers at both national (United States) and international forums, is an active member of AAHPERD, AIESEP, and currently serves as a reviewer for Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport and The Physical Educator.
Her research articles have been published in the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education, the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, The Physical Educator, and Strategies.
Dr. Lux instructs pedagogical methods courses for both majors and non-majors with a specialization in elementary physical education. Her teaching experience includes physical education instruction at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels.
