&lt;h3&gt;About Dr. Lox&lt;/h3&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Curt Lox is Professor and Chair of the department.&amp;nbsp; He obtained his Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, his M.S. from Miami University, and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Riverside.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dr. Lox&amp;rsquo;s research is focused on the psychological impact of exercise for special populations, including the elderly, overweight and obese children and adults, individuals infected with HIV, and individuals with brain injuries.&amp;nbsp; His research articles have been published in the &lt;em&gt;Journal of Sport &amp;amp; Exercise Psychology, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Journal of Cognitive Rehabilitation, International Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Health Psychology, and Rehabilitation Psychology&lt;/em&gt;, among others.&amp;nbsp; Dr. Lox is co-author of &lt;em&gt;The Psychology of Exercise: Integrating Theory and Practice &lt;/em&gt;which is currently in its third edition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dr. Lox teaches courses in exercise, rehabilitation, and sport psychology as well as the sociology of physical activity.&amp;nbsp; He has coached at the youth and high school levels and continues to serve as a sport psychology consultant to players and coaches at the interscholastic, intercollegiate, professional, and national levels.&amp;nbsp; Currently, Dr. Lox is the sport psychologist for the United States Martial Arts Team and regularly consults with coaches, athletes, and administrators in the SIUE Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
