&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;APPLICATION PROCESS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;How do I apply? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If applying for a Master&amp;rsquo;s Degree or Specialist Degree, you will need to complete a Classified Graduate Application &lt;a href="http://www.siue/edu/graduate/apply/index.shtml" target="_blank"&gt;www.siue/edu/graduate/apply/index.shtml&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Depending on which program you select, you may also need to complete a program application as well. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;BILLING PROCESS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Will I receive a paper bill in the mail? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The university does not mail out paper bills anymore.&amp;nbsp; You can go to CougarNet and view your billing statement from there.&amp;nbsp; Go to:&amp;nbsp; &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu" target="_blank"&gt;www.siue.edu&lt;/a&gt;, click on the &amp;ldquo;Cnet&amp;rdquo; under the box on the left side of the screen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;CLASS SCHEDULES&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Where can I find out what courses are being offered each semester?&lt;/em&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Class schedules are located at: &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/registrar/schedules/index.shtml" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.siue.edu/registrar/schedules/index.shtml&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GIFTED CHILDREN CERTIFICATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Which classes do I need to take to become certified to work with gifted children? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;SIUE at this time does not offer classes for gifted education.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MASTER&amp;rsquo;S DEGREE COMPLETION DATE&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;How long do I have to complete a Master&amp;rsquo;s Degree? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;SIUE allows you six years from the date of the first transferred course (or date of admission, whichever is earlier) to complete your degree.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MILLER&amp;rsquo;S ANALOGY TEST&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Do I have to take the Miller&amp;rsquo;s Analogy Test? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;The Miller&amp;rsquo;s Analogy test is no longer required.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;How do I receive National Board Certification? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Go to: &lt;a href="http://www.nbpts.org" target="_blank"&gt;www.nbpts.org&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;OFF-CAMPUS COURSES&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;If I plan on enrolling in an off-campus program, can I still take a class at another location? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, you are always welcome to take classes at another location if you wish to speed up or enhance your program.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROGRAM REQUIREMENT&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Do I have to be employed as a teacher to be in this program? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No, you don&amp;rsquo;t have to be employed to be in this program.&amp;nbsp; This program, however, does not lead to initial teacher certification.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;TEACHING CERTIFICATE RENEWAL&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;What do I do if my teaching certificate has lapsed and I want to take courses to renew my teaching certificate plus work on a master&amp;rsquo;s at the same time? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You need to first contact the Regional Office of Education &lt;a href="http://www.isbe.state.il.us/regionaloffices/Default.htm" target="_blank"&gt;www.isbe.state.il.us/regionaloffices/Default.htm&lt;/a&gt; about getting your teaching certificate reinstated.&amp;nbsp; You are welcome to take graduate level courses, but some programs do require a current teaching certificate before you are fully admitted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;TEXTBOOK INFORMATION&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Where do I purchase my textbooks? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Books may be purchased through the bookstore online&lt;a href=" http://books.siue.bookstore.com" target="_blank"&gt; http://books.siue.bookstore.com&lt;/a&gt; or in person.&amp;nbsp; You can also purchase books through another vendor ahead of time such as Amazon.com or half.com.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;TUITION WAIVERS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;What is a tuition waiver?&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt; A tuition waiver is issued to teachers who host SIUE students in their classroom, either for an observation or student teaching.&amp;nbsp; Principals also receive 3 credit hour waivers if they&amp;rsquo;ve hosted 5 or more SIUE students in their building over the course of a year.&amp;nbsp; The waivers can be transferred within a district.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;UNCLASSIFIED STATUS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Can I take courses without being admitted into a program? &lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Limits on the number of credits that may be presented for transfer vary by degree level and by program.
