<h2>Multicultural Education</h2>
<p>The Early Childhood Center respects the individuality of children and their families. This means:</p>
<ul>

<p>The staff and children acknowledge holidays; however, they do not participate in elaborate celebrations of them. For example, there will be no elaborate Halloween celebration, but there will be a celebration of the harvest season.</p>

<li>
<p><strong>ALL</strong> families are invited to participate in Center and classroom activities.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>The environment reflects diversity.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Prejudiced behavior is not accepted in the classroom.</p>
</li>

<p>The Center adheres to and follows the principles outlined in the Anti-Bias Curriculum (Derman-Sparks, et al, National Association for the Education of Young Children, 1989.)</p>
