<h2>Student Grant (Scholarship) Fund</h2>
<p>The Student Grant Fund directly supports scholarship funding for SIU School of Dental Medicine dental students. At present, the Dr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Sim Scholarship is the most significant student scholarship funded through the Student Grant Fund. We hope you will consider a gift to help provide scholarship support for our dental students.</p>

<p><strong>Announcing the 2010-2011 Dr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Sim Scholarship Recipients</strong></p>
<p>We are pleased to announce the 2010-2011 Dr. & Mrs. Joseph M. Sim Scholarship recipients: Ms. Nicole Elger, Ms. Anna Trzcinska and Ms. Kristen Beversdorf. On April 6, 2010, the Sim Scholarship recipients were recognized at a lunch reception held at Castelli's Moonlight Restaurant in Alton.</p>
<p><img height="186" border="1" width="300" alt="Sim Scholarship" src="/id0904f67a806435f8" align="left" />Dr. Joseph Sim had established a tradition of awarding the annual scholarship before he passed away in December, 2002. Mrs. Pat Sim has generously continued this tradition every year since that time. </p>
<p>The Dr. & Mrs. Joseph M. Sim Scholarship recognizes high academic achievement among dental students at the SIU School of Dental Medicine. Congratulations to Nicole, Anna and Kristen!</p>

<p><strong>We encourage all alumni, faculty and friends of the SIU School of Dental Medicine to think about the gift of a scholarship for one or more of our students.</strong> Giving to the SIU School of Dental Medicine Student Grant Fund provides perhaps the truest opportunity to directly impact the lives of our dental students.</p>
<p>You may also wish to consider a gift to create a more personal scholarship endowment, establishing a named scholarship to be awarded annually in perpetuity in your name or the name of a cherished loved one or friend. This option is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy at the SIU dental school.</p>
<p>We are grateful for any gift you offer to the School of Dental Medicine Student Grant Fund. Certainly our students will appreciate your kindness also.</p>
<p><em>You may wish to note that while most gifts to create an endowment will be a one-time transfer of cash, securities or property, it is possible to establish an endowed fund by making a pledge for up to five annual payments in order to meet the minimum amount for a scholarship endowment.</em></p>
