<h2>Clinics and Rotations<br /></h2>
<p><img height="188" border="1" width="250" style="float:left; margin-right:10px; margin-bottom:10px; " alt="Main Clinic" src="/id0904f67a8041579f" align="left" /><strong>Advanced Care Wing<br /></strong><br />The School of Dental Medicine formally dedicated the Advanced Care Wing of the Main Clinic in Alton in September 2006. The new facility added 24 new graduate operatories to the Main Clinic, providing a base for the majority of the AEGD program's didactic and clinical education. Clinical care offered at the Advanced Care Wing includes advanced restorative dentistry, as well as care to medically compromised patients.</p>
<p>The School of Dental Medicine Dental Implant Program is based in the Advanced Care Wing. During the <strong>Dental Implant Rotation</strong>, Year I residents spend approximately one day per week treating implant patients. Motivated residents have the opportunity to follow patients through treatment planning, surgery and the final restorative phases of implant dentistry. Implant related seminars are scheduled weekly.</p>
<p><br /><img height="150" border="1" width="200" style="float:right; margin-right:10px; margin-bottom:10px; " alt="East St. Louis Dental Clinic" src="/id0904f67a804157a1" align="right" /><strong>East St. Louis Dental Clinic<br /></strong><br />Residents gain experience in all aspects of general dentistry by providing dental care to disadvantaged and under-served populations. New in 2003, this facility provides a comfortable setting with modern equipment (eventually including digital radiography), spacious operatories, and floor–to-ceiling windows for a panoramic view of the St. Louis skyline.</p>
<p>The <strong>Pediatric Dentistry Rotation</strong> is based at the East St. Louis Dental Clinic. Year I residents spend one half day every week providing comprehensive care for pediatric patients under the direction of a Pediatric Dentistry specialist.</p>
<p><strong><br /><img height="118" border="1" width="200" style="float:left; margin-right:10px; margin-bottom: 10px; " alt="Special Needs Clinic" src="/id0904f67a8054af2a" align="left" /></strong><strong>Special Needs Clinic</strong></p>
<p>The <strong>Special Needs Clinic</strong> is a satellite facility on the Alton campus which was renovated and opened in January 2008. Residents rotate through this clinic one half day per week, providing dental treatment to both pediatric and adult special needs patients. </p>

<p><img height="133" border="1" width="200" style="float:right; margin-right:10px; margin-bottom:10px; " alt="Oral Surgery Rotation" src="/id0904f67a8041579e" align="right" /><strong>Oral Surgery<br /></strong><br />During the <strong>Oral Surgery Rotation</strong>, residents work out of a surgical suite dedicated to the program. Residents are instructed in advanced surgical procedures such as third molar extractions (including soft tissue and bony impacted), biopsies and tori removal. Residents also receive didactic and clinical instruction in the administration of IV sedation.</p>
