Admissions Information


PASS and MATCH

Applications are processed using the ADEA Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS) and the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program (MATCH).  Any vacant positions following the announcement of the MATCH results will be filled on an individual basis.

Application Requirements to Enroll in the AEGD Program:

  1. The applicant must have completed or be in the process of completing a dental degree program accredited by the American or Canadian Dental Association.
  2. The applicant must possess or be eligible to obtain an Illinois dental license.
  3. The applicant must have passed Part I of the National Board Dental Exam, and must also pass Part II before enrollment.
  4. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident (possess a green card). 
    Note:  Holders of certain types of visas are not eligible for this residency program.  AEGD residents are considered employees of the university, not students.  In addition to meeting the other requirements listed here, you must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.
  5. The applicant must complete the attached application and submit all items as cited in the instructions that follow:


        If you are participating through PASS, please submit the following:

  1. 3 letters of recommendation as listed above (if not included in PASS)
  2. Small photograph (2x2)

        If you are not participating through PASS, please submit the following:

  1. Photocopy of dental school diploma (if available)
  2. Official transcript forwarded by college(s)
  3. Official transcript forwarded by dental school
  4. 3 letters of recommendation as listed above
  5. National Board Scores Part I & Part II
  6. Small photograph (2x2)

The SIU SDM AEGD Application Form, PASS applications, and all additional application items must be submitted by October 1 for the SIU SDM AEGD class that commences the following July 1.
