<p align="left">With more than 5000 students, the Fachhochschule Hannover (FHH) is the largest practice-oriented university in Lower Saxony. It was created in 1971 from various educational precursors, the oldest dating back to the year 1791. It is one of six institutions of higher education in Hannover, the state capital of Lower Saxony. After the University of Hannover, the FHH ranks second in size. In total, there are around 40,000 students living in Hannover. <span class="quoted1">The Fachhochschule Hannover has been ranked one of the top business and</span> CMIS <span class="quoted1">programs in Germany.</span><br /><br />Hannover lies on the border between the middle German mountains and hills and the northern German flatland. The city is more than 750 years old. It was designated in 1946 as the capital of Lower Saxony and has become the political, economic, and cultural center of the state.<br /><br />The city currently has more than 500,000 inhabitants. This large modern city, with its numerous companies and industries, is internationally recognized for its fairs and exhibitions as well as for hosting EXPO 2000.<br /><br />In contrast to many other cities, the capital offers many parks, landscaped gardens, and recreational open spaces where one feels close to nature. The city's reputation as a center of culture and entertainment is fully justified. Hannover offers music, theater, museums, and art galleries and a wide range of cultural events to suit every taste. Whatever time of year one decides to visit, there is always something taking place to stimulate the imagination.</p>
