The specialization of Dance Performance is focused on an integrated understanding of dance as an artistic discipline within a liberal arts program.

The goal of the program is to provide a high quality, educational experience that will ensure that our graduates are prepared to enter highly accredited graduate schools, perform in professional and semi-professional dance companies, or to teach dance within the community.

The Choreographic and Performance emphasis is based on contemporary modern dance, with ballet and movement theory incorporated as an essential and integral part of the dance curriculum.

The field of Dance Science and Somatic Studies is addressed through Laban Movement Analysis, Bartnieff Fundamentals, and various other somatic conditioning methods.

Other classes offered are that of Tap as well as classes in the areas of Technical Theatre, Theatre History, Literature and Criticism, as well as Acting and Directing.
