Tara Thornton began teaching for the department in 2000 upon graduating with her M.A. in Speech Communication. In 2008, she embarked on student advisement becoming the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Speech Communication. Her teaching interests include interpersonal communication, public speaking, small group communication, organizational communication and listening. Tara is involved on campus as a faculty mentor to undergraduate students and speaks as a guest lecturer on faculty communication. On a personal note, Tara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new places, and volunteering with local organizations.
