            &lt;p&gt;Darryl Coan is Professor of Music Education, Music Theory, and Music Technology.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
            &lt;p&gt;Dr. Coan completed his undergraduate education at Illinois State University and taught public school k-12 instrumental, choral, and general music. He completed his Master's and Doctoral (1992) degrees at the University of Illinois with emphases in General Music and Technology-Based Music Education, respectively.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
            &lt;p&gt;Publishing Editor for &lt;em&gt;Action, Criticism and Research&lt;/em&gt; (&lt;a href="http://mas.siue.edu/ACT"&gt;ACT&lt;/a&gt;-ISSN 1545-4517), the peer-reviewed scholarly e-journal of the &lt;a href="http://www.nyu.edu/education/music/mayday/maydaygroup/index.htm"&gt; Mayday Action Group&lt;/a&gt; in Music Education. Dr. Coan also heads the Music Theory/Composition area, serves as Coordinator for the Music Computer Lab, and was chairperson of the SIUE's Emerging Technologies in Education Committee (ETEC) which evolved from SIUE's &lt;a href="http://www.siue.edu/TLTR/"&gt;Teaching and Learning Roundtable&lt;/a&gt;. He performs regularly with SIUE ensembles as a guest conductor and harpist and as a guest conductor/clinician for area schools/music festivals. He is a member of &lt;a href="http://www.ti-me.org/"&gt;TI:ME&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="http://www.isme.org"&gt;ISME&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="http://www.nyu.edu/education/music/mayday/maydaygroup/index.htm"&gt; MayDay&lt;/a&gt;, and Pi Kappa Lambda.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
