<h2><br />Sculpture on Campus</h2>
<ul>
<li>The Sculpture on Campus Program was introduced in 2002 as a way of offering students a valuable opportunity to work on large-scale sculptures and to provide a recognition program for outstanding student work in sculpture.</li>
<li>Up to twelve students are selected from a juried competition to display original sculpture designs for a year throughout the SIUE campus.</li>
<li>$500 student stipends are awarded to help offset some of the costs of art materials to create their original sculptures.</li>
<li>An annual Art Walk, sponsored by the Department of Art and Design, is conducted to allow students, faculty, staff, and community residents an opportunity to learn about the sculptures.</li>
<li>The program offers SIUE visitors a changing display of innovative and creative contemporary art to spur intellectual discussion and encourage wider art appreciation.</li>
