<p>A total of 14 departments and programs within the College of Arts and Sciences offer graduate degrees. These include master's degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates, as well as a cooperative PhD program in History with Southern Illinois University Carbondale. <p>Many of the College's graduate programs have national reputations of excellence, and are known for producing alumni with skills, talents and abilities to be leaders in their fields. Several of the College's graduate programs are accredited by their respective discipline-specific organizations, when applicable. <p>Graduate students at SIUE are often entrenched in their specific disciplines, working alongside faculty and guiding undergraduate students. They work closely with faculty mentors, and gain further insight and expertise in their fields of study. Some have teaching duties, those in the sciences work in laboratories and field sites, and others conduct research in their specific area of study. <br /><br /><strong>Fellowships</strong> can assist with recruiting and keeping high caliber graduate students for the College of Arts and Sciences. A stipend of $15,000 per year will assist a single graduate student for three semesters, and ensure that exceptional students can successfully complete their SIUE degrees in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.</p>
