I returned to college as a non-traditional student and graduated in 1997. Upon graduation I worked in the family business, Lexow Financial Group, for seven years and the next five years I worked at Southwestern Illinois College as a job readiness instructor and special project coordinator for the Adult Education Department. In January of 2009, I returned to the family business as office manager and marketing coordinator. Not only do I work with my husband, but also have the opportunity to work with our daughter who is also a SIUE graduate.
I was excited to be a part of the planning process for the 2009 SIUE Homecoming because of the efforts to make the event a community affair. My favorite memory of the SIUE Homecoming is from the 1970’s when my husband was a student. I remember attending the enormous bonfire prepared by Alpha Phi Omega on a Friday evening after the soccer game.
